The American professional boxer George Foreman lived between January 10, 1949, and March 21, 2025. He founded his own business, preached Christianity, and published books. From 1967 to 1997 he participated in professional boxing matches under his ring name "Big George." 

George Foreman Death

Foreman died in Houston on March 21, 2025, when he reached the age of 76. His passing occurred in a Houston healthcare facility. As a heavyweight champion, He earned fame twice in this boxing title category and also won gold at the Olympic Games. 

Beyond his famous career in boxing, he accomplished fame through inventing the highly successful George Foreman Grill.

Wife & Children Details

The lengthy marriage of George extended from 1985 until his death and united him with Mary Joan Martelly. Throughout his life, George Foreman married five times until his final union with Mary Joan Martelly. 

His previous marriages included Adrienne Calhoun between 1971 and 1974, Cynthia Lewis from 1977 to 1979, Sharon Goodson from 1981 to 1982, and  Andrea Skeete from 1982 to 1985. 

Twelve children born to George make up a family of five boys among seven girls. The offspring of George Foreman include his oldest son George Jr. and his subsequent three sons George III and George IV and George V and youngest son George VI. 

Natalia and Leola and Freeda and Michi and Georgetta along with Isabella and Courtney complete the seven daughters of Foreman. Most of the 12 children he had with his first wife Mary Joan Martelly include Natalia and Leola. 

The offspring includes Freeda along with Michi and Georgetta but they come from various connections of his. During 2009 the legendary boxer Foreman gave Isabella Brandie Lilja custody before taking in Courtney Isaac as his adopted child in 2012.

George Foreman Biography

He developed in the Fifth Ward neighborhood of Houston with his six siblings after his birth in Marshall Texas. George received his upbringing from J.D. Foreman {Father} although his mother wed J.D. when the boxer was still young. 

The person who fathered George was Leroy Moorehead rather than his adoptive father J.D. Foreman. At age 15 Foreman left school and ended up engaging in criminal activities including acts of mugging. 

At age 16 Foreman decided to make changes that would lead him toward a better future. He asked his mom to enroll him in Job Corps after watching its television advertisement. She happily approved his request.

Physical Appearance & Statistics

He was a heavyweight boxer, weighing between 215 and 250 pounds. He stood 6 feet 3 inches tall with a reach of 78 inches. He fought in an orthodox stance.

Over his career, he had 81 fights, winning 76 of them. An impressive 68 of those wins were by knockout. He lost only 5 times. His debut amateur bout occurred on January 26 1967 when he won by KO during the first round of Parks Diamond Belt Tournament.

Within February 1967 he claimed victory at the Junior Division tournament hosted by San Francisco Examiner which organized the Golden Gloves Tournament. 

He used the first knockdown to score a victory in the Senior Division of the Las Vegas Golden Gloves championships during that month.

The year after his first title victory he obtained another championship when his punch knocked out L.C. Brown during the Senior Title event in San Francisco. 

The eighth season of The Masked Singer featured George under the Venus Fly Trap costume in 2022. Foreman was eliminated on Hall of Fame Night along with George Clinton under his Gopher costume.

The year 2023 marked his role as executive producer for Big George Foreman which portrayed his professional life and his path to Christianity through a Christian film.
